Stop 24 - Pleasant Valley School
Until 1868, area children travelled to Ventura for school which was often impassable due to rain. That year Santa Barbara County issued a permit to establish the Pleasant Valley School District which operated schools at this location. Thus it is the oldest school district in Ventura County
Studio Channel Islands now occupies the former school site. Public art exhibitions are held in the old school auditorium.
