Stop 24 - Pleasant Valley School

Until 1868, children from the area had to travel to Ventura for school, a journey often hindered by impassable roads during rainy seasons. That year, Santa Barbara County granted a permit to establish the Pleasant Valley School District, which began operating schools at this very location. As a result, it holds the distinction of being the oldest school district in Ventura County.

Today, Studio Channel Islands occupies the site of the former school. The old school auditorium now hosts public art exhibitions, continuing to enrich the community with cultural events.
